The Pumpkin Patch

The last day of our visit in Bolingbrook, instead of heading
back to Washington, we decided to take a side trip to the
Pumpkin Patch. The girls were out of school and it was
a beautiful day. Even though, this happened a year ago,
I wanted to do a page on it because it was such a fun day.

Trunk or Treat

The Washington Ward Trunk or Treat night was such a
success that I just had to put in on my blog. Kyli looks
so cute in her witch costume. Fun page to do.

As our stay in Bolingbrook was coming to an end, we wanted
to get one last picture. This is of Emma just before she left
for school. What a cutie!

Twins

My good friend Anne Hixson and I have cars just alike. We
also have coats and purses alike all bought independantly.
I love it when I drive over to her house and all of her neighbors
wave thinking it is her of course.

Lily's new glasses

One Sunday, Lily left Primary to use the rest
room. When she came back in, she was wearing
glasses. Chris recognized them as her Build
a Bear glasses. They just about squished her
head in.

Lily's Curl's

Chris decided to curl Lily's hair for church. It looked
so cute that they wondered why they had not done
this before. We all love it!

Emma's new bed

Emma's new bedframe came yesterday from
the Pottery Barn. The mattress and quilt were
bought ahead of time. It finally all came together
and looks so cute. We all want to flip coins to sleep
in there.

Others that helped on Sean's Eagle project were: Matt
Coleman (Sean's YM's President, Larry Ficklin ( Sean's
grandfather), Cody Francis (in the orange shirt) and Sean's
parents, Spencer and Lori Ficklin. I can't belileve these
pictures were taken with a cell phone as no one had a
camera with them.

Sean and Glen Hervey are filling up the pond
as the last step. The biggest job was digging
the hole out of practically pure clay and then
with all the rain that we had this Spring, getting
the hole drained to add the liner. Well, here we are!
Brother Hervey, Nate Coleman, Grandpa Ficklin
Brother Quaethem and John Strupp working on
Sean's Eagle project. The project was building a
pond in back of the Cambelton School. There will
be plants in the pond for the children to study and
will be a nice addition to the grounds.

These flowers are called wave petunias. Last year we walked by a house that had these and they were so beautiful. I finally found out what they were and decided to plant some. So far they are doing well. They are fed Miracle Gro's Bloom Enhancer once a week and they stay pretty happy!
Today is Kent Ficklin's birthday and my mother's wherever she is in heaven. I hope that she knows we still think of her and love her.

June 21, 2008 New Kitchen Makeover

This is the finished look of our new kitchen. We are still getting used to it because it is so different to us. We got things back on the walls and it was nice to have it back in order. We will enjoy the new look.

June 19, 2008

We just received an announcement from Mark and M'Linda Holmgren on the announcement of their new baby girl, Jalisca. We are so glad that she is here safe and sound. Congratulations are in order for the proud new parents.

We have had our kitchen in array for the past 2 weeks. First, we had a new counter installed and got rid of the green sage formica one that was pretty much dictating the decor of the entire home. This week we are painting. We went with a soft tan on top and red on the bottom with a border inbetween. This is pretty wild for two old conservative people. Before and after pictures will follow when the project becomes complete.

This is my first time at blogging, so I am testing the waters. I hope to learn more about how this works.
